Each member of our team brings a unique set of skills and experiences, from finance and investment strategy to property management and maintenance, but we’re connected by the same core values: integrity, practicality, growth, stewardship, and community.   • Founder

    Dan Langworthy is the founder and president of Vine Living, a real estate investment and management firm dedicated to revitalizing communities through multifamily housing. Born and raised in Minnesota, Dan graduated from Drake University with a degree in Accounting and Finance. While still in college in 2020, he began investing in real estate, building a strong-performing portfolio that deepened his understanding of asset performance, risk management, and investor strategy from an owner’s perspective. This passion, combined with his institutional finance background, shaped the vision that would grow into Vine Living.

    Before launching Vine, Dan served as Finance Manager at Newbury Living, a multifamily real estate development and management firm with a presence across Iowa and South Dakota. There, he led financial analysis, underwriting, and feasibility assessments for both affordable (LIHTC) and market-rate housing developments. His work contributed to securing numerous 9% and 4% tax credit awards, resulting in millions in developer fees and new project ownership. He also collaborated with public agencies to secure tax abatements, grants, and forgivable loans, and partnered with design teams to ensure developments met both market demands and financial targets. Prior to Newbury, he held internships with Athene and Farm Bureau Financial Services, gaining valuable experience in financial modeling, market research, and credit underwriting.

    Today, through Vine Living, Dan focuses on acquiring distressed multifamily properties and transforming them into well-managed, thriving communities. His approach blends disciplined, research-driven investment strategies with a resident-first philosophy, ensuring that properties not only financially perform but also provide safe, welcoming homes. Vine currently owns and manages properties across Iowa, Minnesota, and North Dakota, with plans for multi-state expansion. With experience in acquisitions, financing, and operations, Dan brings both the analytical discipline of a finance professional and the hands-on dedication of a community builder. When he’s not focused on growing Vine, he enjoys running, weightlifting, Hyrox competitions, water sports, and time with his family.

  • Partner

    Josh is a partner in some of Vine Living’s subsidiaries, where his focus is primarily on overseeing operations for the company’s North Dakota portfolio. While Vine’s day-to-day Iowa operations are led by the in-house team, Josh plays a key supporting role on the North Dakota assets, assisting with unit showings, coordinating renovations, and helping manage both subcontractors and in-house crews to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to standard. Josh brings a strong operational and entrepreneurial background to the business. He earned both his undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of North Dakota, where he also served as captain of the UND Division I football team. His leadership on and off the field translated naturally into business, and he began investing in real estate with Dan Langworthy while still in college. During that same period, he founded and scaled a lawn care company into a six-figure business, demonstrating a strong work ethic and practical management experience. Josh and Dan have known each other since kindergarten in Minnesota, and that long-standing relationship continues to form the foundation of their business partnership today. Passionate about execution and teamwork, Josh brings discipline, reliability, and a steady operational presence to Vine’s North Dakota properties. Outside of work, he enjoys lifting, spending time up north at his cabin, and fishing.

  • Maintenance Director

    Austin Meyer has been with Vine Living since its inception, serving as the firm’s Maintenance Director and playing a key role in the growth and success of its portfolio. From day one, Austin has overseen the care, upkeep, and daily operations of Vine’s multifamily properties, ensuring that residents enjoy safe, comfortable, and well-maintained homes. Before joining Vine, Austin built a strong foundation in construction and property services. He worked with a general contractor on a wide range of projects also served with the US Forest Service, gaining both technical expertise and resourcefulness. His diverse background allows him to approach maintenance challenges with creativity, practicality, and efficiency. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Austin now lives in Des Moines with his family and two young children. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, working on cars, spending time outdoors, and being with his family.


  • Maintenance Specialist

    Jared joined Vine Living as a Maintenance and Renovation Specialist, where he works closely under Maintenance Director Austin assisting with day-to-day maintenance requests and supporting ongoing renovation projects across the portfolio. In this role, he plays an important part in ensuring units are turned efficiently, repairs are handled properly, and properties continue to improve in quality and performance. Before joining Vine Living, Jared built a unique and well-rounded technical background. He previously worked as a garage door technician, where he developed strong hands-on mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and also worked at EP2 as a programmer, giving him a rare combination of practical mechanical ability and technical, systems-based thinking. This blend allows him to approach maintenance issues methodically, diagnose problems quickly, and execute repairs with precision. Jared has proven to be a fast learner, highly dependable, and mechanically inclined, especially when it comes to vehicles and equipment. He brings that same attention to detail and work ethic to the properties he helps maintain and renovate every day. Outside of work, he enjoys creating music, working on cars, and spending time at the track racing.
